I want to live in Auroville

Daily Blog #5

Today was really peaceful. I took a nice little nap in the afternoon, and at night it started to rain. I love rain by the way, it is my favorite weather. I don’t know what but there is something about the rain that makes me feel so alive inside. It brings out a lot of feelings and as a kid growing up, most of my childhood memories were based around rain. Aah, I just love it.

I talked to one of my friends in Delhi today, we talked a lot and when I told him, I was coming to Delhi this month. He invited me to stay at his home (he is just the best). Now guys I only have a few friends but the once I have are the best. They are all passionate about something and have really big dreams. And I love them all. Talking with them always makes me happy and I can always share my feeling with them.

Now talking about passion, friendship, and harmony I came to know about a place called Auroville today. I was awestruck when I read about it. It is a township where they do not use any money, every job has equal value and around 2000 people from over 20 Nations live there in harmony. It was founded in 1968 by Mirra Alfassa (known as “the Mother”).

Now most surprising of all, this place is located in India. Well, to be exact It’s in South India near Pondicherry. The place is a heaven on earth and you guys should definitely check it out. Now I have always dreamed of a place like this. Somewhere there is no money, no government, no religion, no skyscrapers or expressways, no newspapers with headlines of war, poverty, and genocide I really want to go there one day and live for a couple of years.

Now I know that the place sounds too good to be true right. Well, I just read about it and watched some documentaries, so far it’s all good. But the true nature of the place can only be found out if I go there.

What do you guys think about this place, have anyone been there or tell me if you would ever want to live in such a place.
